Welcome! Thank you for joining me in this space!

My name is Lynette, the writer here. I’m a wife, a momma, a Nana ~ a lover of my Catholic faith and all things saintly ~ a mental health advocate with my own personal story ~ a contemplative by nature who seeks beauty in the created world around me.

Why a blog? Simply because, for me, to not write is akin to not breathing. I’ve dabbled with some sort of writing most of my life ~ forming my name in a thousand different fonts with various writing tools, soaking up English classes secretly hoping for copious amounts of writing assignments, composing poetry and music lyrics set to rudimentary guitar cords shared only with the silent occupants of my solitary room, writing occasional short pieces for different organizations on a variety of topics.

I’ve never considered myself a writer per se. That was reserved for the great literary composers and authors throughout time who had “done’ something with their talent. Last year, I stepped away from writing. I tried my hand at other hobbies - watercolor rice paper painting, coloring, baking, photography - and while I enjoyed them all, there was a void. The images of words and punctuation formed into sentences and paragraphs continued to be written in my head. I slowly came to realize that being a writer isn’t about the end result, it is in the process. A writer (as defined by Merriam Webster) is “one that writes.”

So, here I am, writing. A special thank you to the fellow writer who suggested I create this space and to all those along the way who have encouraged me in my writing. And thank you, dear reader, for allowing me to share with you what is written on the landscape of my heart, mind, and soul.
